St. Louis Mediation Services
Informal negotiation with a neutral attorney can be one way to resolve your case. Mediation is a confidential way to resolve a legal conflict with an experienced lawyer's help to avoid the stress and expense of litigation. Parties need to understand that what is said at mediation cannot be reported to the Court, nor can the mediator be required to testify at hearing or trial. Thus, mediation is a space where parties are encouraged to be open and honest with one another to agree.
At Ahearn Kershman, we offer mediation services for divorce, custody, child support, paternity, property division, and modification actions. We can facilitate the conversation to work through a legal conflict with your spouse, ex-spouse, or another family member. We have experienced mediators such as attorney John D. Kershman with 16 plus years of experience with mediation and he is a member of the APFM - The Academy of Professional Family Mediators, the AMM = The Association of Missouri Mediators, and IACP - International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Additionally, attorney James P. Ahearn, as a Licensed Professional Counselor, adds his experience working with families and children.
Mediation can take many forms, but the underlying service we provide is to serve as a neutral attorney to facilitate communication between parties with the intent to reach a compromise. Typically, mediation sessions are scheduled in two-hour increments but can be scheduled for a longer period of time if needed.
